Holy Queen Mother of Vietnam Park Near Greer, SC

Lost Culture – Nippon Center Yagoto – Greenville, SC

The Nippon Center Yagoto was established in 1989 by textile magnate Kiyohiro Tsuzuki of TNS Mills. The late 80’s and early 90’s saw a major influx of Japanese business in the Upstate and the center’s purpose was to be a cultural meeting point between a growing population of Japanese nationals and the Upstate’s community.

No More Visitors

This sign along Hwy 176 in Tryon, NC just south of Pearson’s Falls is the only thing that remains of the Valley Courts Motel. Tryon in the past was a popular vacation spot and many places such as this once existed to house the large groups of visitors coming to enjoy the NC mountains.
